Why Podcasts are Becoming the Biggest Visibility Trend
Visibility - love it or loathe it - is key to growing your business.
Whether offline or online, in order to grow and scale, you need to be out there talking about what you do, whilst adding value to others.
Podcasts are one of the most powerful ways to build authority, expand your reach, and create meaningful connections. In fact, as of January 2025, there are over 4,300,000 podcasts worldwide, according to thepodcasthost.com and in the UK, 2024 was a record breaking year for podcast listening.
According to Edison’s Latest UK Podcast Consumer Report, 69% of the adult UK population has listened to a podcast, with many doing so whilst completing chores, commuting or working out.
Podcasts provide on-demand audio content, allowing flexibility, so that listeners choose what they want to listen to and when. I personally love listening to a podcast during my morning dog walk - I wouldn’t want to start my morning in any other way.
Here’s why they are trending:
Podcasts build deep trust. Unlike social media posts that disappear in a scroll, podcasts let you share your story in a real, authentic way—building connection and credibility.
Podcast listeners are highly engaged. People tune in with intention, meaning they’re actively listening (not just skimming). This makes them more likely to take action on what they hear.
They position you as an expert. Being invited as a guest instantly elevates your authority. You’re not just another voice in the crowd—you’re the go-to person in your space.
Podcast interviews have a long lasting impact. Unlike social media, which fades fast, podcasts are long form content, which means they live online forever, bringing you visibility months or even years later.

A successful podcast interview is all in the preparation—master this, and you’ll not only feel confident behind the mic but also leave a lasting impact on your audience.
Five top tips on how to prepare for a podcast interview
Do your Research
Get a feel for the podcast's tone, format and the host’s interview style, by listening to previous episodes. Perhaps there’s a particular question that is asked to all interviewees, so have a think about what your answer might be to this.
Know your Key Messages
It would be easy to write a script for a podcast interview, however, you want the conversation to flow easily, so refrain from doing this. Rather, note down 3- 4 key messages and know them inside out.
Understand the Audience
Ask who the target audience of the podcast is and make sure your content is relevant to them. Could you provide them with 3- 5 top tips, based on what you do? Have one key takeaway you’d like the audience to remember from the conversation.
Set up your Tech for Success
Find a quiet space, where you won’t be disturbed, and make sure your internet connection is stable. Sound quality matters, so ask if there are any additional steps that you need to take to get the best quality.
Know your Call to Action
What are the next steps you want the audience to take? Whether it's to follow you on social media, visit your website or to find out more about your programme, make sure you have clarity on this beforehand.
Podcast interviews are an opportunity to share your message, build your authority, and connect with a new audience—so own it with confidence! With the right preparation, you’ll not only make an impact but also open the door to even more visibility opportunities.
